The graph shows the simulation of climate change on the discharge at the inlet to the lower Ogooué River in Gabon. The right column shows the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change RCP 8.5 scenario (increase in greenhouse gas emissions), whilst the right column shows the RCP 4.5 scenario (stabilisation of greenhouse gas emissions before 2100). Predicted changes in climate data clearly show an increase in discharge, which combined with land use changes may increase flood risk and strain the downstream wetlands.
