At the ESA Business Incubation Centre (BIC) Bavaria ‘1000 jobs created’ event on 24 April 2013 in Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, ESA Director General Jean-Jacques Dordain met with Thorsten Rudolph, CEO of Anwendungszentrum GmbH Oberpfaffenhofen (AZO) which operates ESA BIC Bavaria under contract with ESA, to sign the agreement to extend the incubation efforts of the Bavarian centre, allowing new start-ups to be selected and guaranteeing economic growth for the region. Overall, the contract extension will support up to 90 more start-ups by 2019. Head of ESA’s Technology Transfer Programme Office Frank M.
